Oh Lord let me down from the prominent heights And then we’ll discuss all the terms Buy me a soul that you’d pay for the most Or at least a prophet to burn And then watch what you say Listen and learn Call me up, frequently heard Take my advice Take it to heart I know you got something for me Oh Lord pick me up from the bottomless depth And then you’ll divulge all the facts I know we survive like a communist threat Scattered out in radial paths And we’ve got such a way of grieving the past If it lasts, then why is it first? So place it in line and make it go faster Disasters and possibly worse And then watch what you say Listen and learn Call me up, frequently heard Take my advice Take it to heart I know you got something for me

If I'd walked out to China Beach I wouldn't think to ask where you would go If I lay down on China Beach my mind might wander out towards Mexico If I was getting good at being loved my guard might come down very slow And someone for all we know might be Keeping conscientious track of goals that need attending While others are relaxing You let me know that calling just because I'm lonely is completely rude You could work this into a lecture to the starving not to beg for food You need a world without my manicured complacency offending you And a certain someone Who would never steal unless you ended up with something that he wanted Who would never slap a girl around, unless she made him angry Who would never screw you over, if there weren't some slight advantage Or snap your last thread of self-respect, all other things remaining equal

Tie 'em up in the old trope academy It's like a punch in the face Drumming up your new world wares you speak In your own elusive ways You say 'em right now , a couple words, a few One or two lines may be typical for you Conceding to the crowds, Setting up your disgrace There's one more piece in spite of all the puzzles we've solved Are you bleeding out your portions of days? Towing all the company lines? Are you planting all you Oedipal seeds? Holding out on everyone now? In the old trope academy You'll be the fire in the hole Burning out with every breath you take In your own connective soul You sing it right now, a couple words a few One or two lines may be difficult for you Colluding with the crowds Setting up our disgrace There's one more piece in spite of all the puzzles we've solved Are you bleeding out the portions of days? Showing what you need to survive? Are you hampered by your terrible fears? Exposing your indecent desires? Are you bleeding out your portions of days? Towing all the company lies? Are you planting all your Oedipal fears? Holding out on everyone now? Are you bleeding out your portions of days? Overhauling every design? Will you shatter all your delicate things? I suppose it doesn't matter at all Are you bleeding out your portions of days? Throwing out what seems to be fine? Are you bleeding out your portions of days? Holding out on everyone now?

Let’s talk about duality Only ‘cuz it means that much to me Are you all about reality? Or more about moral ambiguity? You’ve got so little to say So much more time to take Pleasure lives inside your terror One more beast to slay You can be alive You can be a specter Thank you for tryna be bolth You can be denied Or the benefactor Fuck you for tryna be bolth Let’s talk plurality Maybe there’s one or two of me Or maybe there’s more of me More than you could ever wanna hope to see You might not tip your cap You might not get to bat All those squiggly lines you measure They won’t come to that You can be a man You can be a creature Thank you for tryna be bolth You can be a god You can be a preacher Fuck you for tryna be bolth You put a spell on me Right where you want me to be I don’t mind that you’re not what you were cracked up to be You can be a snob You can be a cheapskate Fuck you for tryna be bolth You can be divine You can be apostate Thank you for tryna be bolth

REV NINE 02:28
You wear your age seventeen under your face And now that you're age forty-one you're a disgrace And time has not been adding up into your favor "There's still some left, subtract some fiscal lines", she said Revolution nine! Common as a day, stirring as a night What a weird way to kick me when I'm down Especially when I'm up to no good! Yeah! You invade like an enemy over the wall Your endless sieges make me feel so small Trojan horses, trebuchets, maybe I'm beaten "Raise no flag, no white one, no defeat", she said Revolution nine! Common as a day, certain as a night What a weird way to kick me when I'm down Especially when I'm up to no good! Yeah!

COAT OF ARMS 03:56
I’m gonna find someone who’s not in love I’m gonna drive another mile She’s got a cross upon her bedroom wall He’s trying to change her brilliant style I’m gonna take a look and see what’s mine I’ll keep the knife and paper She’s fallen down on the palace floor And he cannot save her A rush of flowing water, spins me into gold Speak to me while my eyes are closing down And let me pray A coat of arms for a rainy day The years go by and it’s another day Complacency she screams I’m gonna dive into an empty sea And wash away all those dreams I’m up and down like a house on fire She’s underneath the tower So if you see me in the dusty light Prepare yourself for the showers A rush of flowing water, spins me into gold Speak to me while my eyes are closing down And let me pray A coat of arms for a rainy day I’m gonna find someone who’s not in love I’m driving home to another town She’s standing there with a plastic smile He’s still trying to reach the ground I’m gonna find someone who’s not in love I’m gonna drive another mile She’s got a cross upon her bedroom wall He’s trying to change her style A rush of flowing water, spins me into gold Speak to me while my eyes are closing down And let me pray A coat of arms for a rainy day

Gimme something to start the vatical trance Let me dissolve in mirth and magic, at least 'til its gone, or 'til it freezes in limp decrease On a roll in a chancy game You call on yourself to pick up the mantle and lead Love is all You can sit on a shelf or flit courageously Thundering, deafening shots, clattering bright In the end I hope that you’ll pray for me Contravene, suddenly stop, you and your plight Everyone longs here My flashes unamplified Right afterward, softly Commonly settled or not, broken-up fights in the err of multiple ways and means Sovereignty huddles and plots, holing up tight You were there promptly Eyelashes and amber light Dark shadows were all you gave to me Gimme something to vault the matter-of-fact Gimme resolve to hurdle the havoc again - is it gone? Or did it drop in feigned decease? On your own in a frantic frame Becalm your sense, get rid of fanatical schemes Love is all You consider yourself at least the same as me What’s with these separate slots, isn’t it strange? Dividends I know that you’ll spend for me Diplomats pillaged and robbed, counterfeit change Borrowing, lending My calling is hailing me White squalor is all you gave to me Gimme something besides a panic attack Gimme a god who loves the saints in me, just as much as the terrible deadly sins Overall, it’s a massive shame To fall on your sword, to rip up the paper and scream Love is all You can cripple yourself or flirt contagiously Love is all You can sit on a shelf or flit courageously Love is all You consider yourself at least the same as me

This is where you get in trouble, with your fine and cerebral wit Just as well, you’re better off with your maligned, hysterical fits You maintain your brains like hedgerows If you’re sane they’re probably twigs The untoward bits get stabled and shelved unshorn You keep ‘em in brigs They surround you, they inform you, they rely on inerrable views Your environment doesn’t suit you, you’ll get by whatever you do You identify with your quarry: this is the Stockholm syndrome reversed You dethrone your queens and tyrants and kings, and wait for your clime to get worse There’ll be no time for varlets and pages, telling you why your fiefdom is free So we can slap you silliest later, then in a while you’ll likely agree Your confidence has been rendered into pieces and tatters and shreds Right along with your dissension, or at least until you forget How the ways and means are unending, in steep and rapid descent There’s nothing you’ll face to be saved for yourself, no loss to be gained or misspent Tell us you won’t be out until later, then you conspire to scamper and flee Complex analysis will evade you, then there was mine: the type you won’t need Here’s a scabbard with a weapon you could beg or borrow or stea

I was the one who said we were done, yeah, so You were the rock, around the clock, and I know All those little complications From twisted words to alienation And now I see you've met someone like me And I know cause it plays all night on my newsfeed And I know, when the scary little music starts That I should go, unless I want to hide behind my heart Remember the day when we tumbled down that hill? We talked and we laughed and made the clouds stand still I said the stars were out to get me You said you would never forget me Well here we go, down to the wire again Breathing the air that grows cold, and thin And I know, when the scary little music starts That I should go, unless I want to hide behind my heart And I know, when the scary little music starts That I should go, unless I want to hide behind my heart Into the dark as we disembark from the truth Left to devise some compromise and its through The way in which the story's told The speed at which the dice get rolled And now I see he’s got a new LP I tried not to notice but it sounds a lot like me And I know, when the scary little music starts That I should go, unless I want to hide behind my heart

I NEED YOU 03:34
The other day I was sitting out at the barn Drinking whiskey and chewing on an ear of corn I looked across the field, way down south I tried to speak but the words wouldn’t come out of my mouth I need you The other day I was sitting out by the silo Hanging with Josie, Henry, Matteo and Milo We heard a sound up above, we looked to the heavens We a saw a plane overhead, we named him Kevin I need you The other day I was sitting out at the dairy I tried to do some drugs, but they were too scary We looked across the field, way out west We tried to do some other drugs, they were the best I need you
11.
I don’t like the touch of a clone Would you be here now? I don’t like the sound of a drone Would you be here now? be here now? I don’t like the way that I bleed I don’t have the things that I need Would you be here now? I don’t like two moons in the sky Would you be here now? I don’t know if robots can cry Would you be here now? be here now? I don’t like the way that I bleed I don’t have the things that I need Would you be here now? I can feel the air leaving sucked into space all alone I can hear my heart beating hearing it pound is now wearing me down Can’t you see? I don’t like the touch of a clone Would you be here now?

I used to be a bright light Now I lean like a derelict lamppost The shadows cease to be mine Now I’m seen, like an obvious scarecrow Takes the strong, supple and clean in me Rubs the grain wrong when I drink to thee Girds the way ‘round all what needs to be closed I go into shutdown mode I used to be a bright light Now I seep up from underneath trapdoors The challenge frequently lies In all my thoughts: incomplete–to-me “therefores” Wake the song, sermon and speech in me Lug the weight, offer a place to these Burdens, when all that deceives me is known I’ve gone into shutdown mode
13.
IDIOT ROCK 02:03
Your range of motion and the summer slipped away Beyond simple is the life you know today And all that’s true, as if you were to say I thought you’d never use that line The plain, cold notion of a teacher telling lies Upon reflection I can see you in disguise The old and new, the medium in size I wanted to believe you’d stay Failure raises ugly heads Tucks them into bed for the night So let the other dreams take fright Just like the other me In the mirror In the light Complain and tussle ‘til you wish it all away Command people to receive your own disdain C’mon let’s go and beat the old brigade And promptly overreach me now So let the other people die Just like the other dreams in the middle of the night We want you, need you to be someone that you’re not And plan to bleed you and defeat you ‘til you stop And God rang true The Devil twisted plots The Carpenter was all but sane
14.
Control the news defeat the press and then Disown what you accede as best consent Explain yourself with no concern and let The claims’ complexion grow and churn dissent What a shame What could ever lead The people to believe this? The smallest stone Sends a ripple up the creek We hold the truth in common trust with due Remorse we knew the flaws of justice too There’s so much we can’t control So much more we’d like to know You shield yourself you troll me now the dread Fulfilled you sell your own recalcitrance The loudest screeds corrosive jeers misled The crowds the xenophobic fear you spread What to say now? I don’t think the people Will agree to this The smallest voice Is a hammer to the teeth What’s won is won what happens next is this: You’re done if one whole half is left dismissed There’s so much we can’t control So much more we’d like to know
15.
Dip from the well of deeper knowledge and when you’re old you find you’re uncertain like me Pick from the barrel of better apples, or if you’re so inclined, pick the poisonous peach Give us this day our daily breadcrumb, the trail of which’ll lead to forgiveness & shrift If you said one less word you’d be ashamed of yourself You’d take your own horse’s mouth as your gift They’ll sit you right down and tell you stories, and mostly what you’ll find is unparalleled filth The scriptures are sound and filled with glory, but yours’ll not comply with their everyday tilth The covenants sign themselves, ignoring the promises that fill you with sadness & guilt If you said one more thing you’d get a hold of yourself, await your own pair of tracks to be built Symptoms of amateur and aged condition tell you why every smile is unseen Set us a trap for alligators, or if you’ll let me buy, crocodiles are on me Accomplishment leads to your surrender, horrendous ugly crimes you’ve yet to commit Lawmen that billed you for your tender send you back inside if you care to admit Ways you could plead as their offender, uncommon as a thief, just as tied to be fit If you had one more place in which you keep to yourself you’d get your own island lickety split You tell us you won’t be out ‘til later, then you wonder why you decided to leave Simple analysis eludes you, either that or mine is the type you don’t need Sharpen your blades and battle axes and when you hold 'em, find they're attractively built

So what if you kneel? And what if you drop? What'll you feel? Will it ever be stopped? You've got grand thoughts They never go away They pick good times to bug you every day Nothing’s unreal when everything's false What if they’re free? What’ll they cost? Some get lost, you leave 'em in the cold They're over and done with, you know they're too old I am the fountainhead I swear The devil is the soul police Feel the mountain dead with air Disheveled in the shoaled release Write accounts and shed your wear and revel in the cold caprice They’re pulling you apart at your seams, pulling you apart at your seams They burden you, startle you, putting you in charge of your needs So what do they take? And what do they not? Will you require what you frequently sought? You've got slim thoughts They seldom go astray They speak real lies, controlling what you say Something is weird, something seems off What do you think is the reason we scoff Unfelt loss, you leave it in the cold They're over and done with you know they're too old The cavalry rejoiced and we supplanted all the terrible fear Inhabit these avoidant screeds and slander other credible means The rabble we employ for free, the laughter gets rid of disease They’re pulling you apart at your seams, pulling you apart at your seams They burden you, startle you Putting you in charge of your needs
17.
I try to be the 47% Giving you less than zero of good god’s bread Spinning round at 45 rpm You pay the landlord 53 times of your rent You place the good leaf on your shelf God stops listening You take two: your TV, not yourself God stops listening Tinker says to Evers “Let’s Chance it” Crowds remark, the savior buys your dances Closing down Clown Town for any old Rand Platform scribbled in lipstick on your hand You take the good books off your shelf God stops listening Pray through to Jesus on your cel God stops listening Stay true, reality overwhelms God stops listening To all your tediously worn tells God stopped listening 98% of the old flim-flam Every beat of the old paranoid tin can Every hollow point round, the Amboy bands Another stick in the eye of your fellow man You waste the good leaf untold times God stops listening Breathe if you see me on your right God stops listening One time you’ll see me then you’ll say God stops listening One more for TV, then we’ll say God stopped listening

Goodbye minced oaths, you’re sure as shoot profound You’re all flipped out, you swore you’d swear out loud When grace is grit and when the whirlwind’s strong The latest shift in how the world went wrong Goodbye minced oaths, you’ve moved to higher ground Goodbye minced oaths, you’re on a different plane Divine this code, the automated brain Express yourself without analyses When less is best, you work it out with these Goodbye minced oaths, you’re on to better things So why dear lord is it a dad burn blaze When minds get freaked? We’re in a downturn phase? Goodbye minced oaths, you’ve worn your welcome out You’re all distraught, you know you’re selfish now You take the bait and then you run with it But hate is hate – you live among the dead Goodbye minced oaths, you blow the truth right down So why dear lord do we apply such guilt When life gets rough? Or when we try we wilt? Goodbye minced oaths, you proved your worth again Your time is gone, you lose as well as win A sinful man disowns the bygone books When diplomats are hanging by god’s hooks Goodbye minced oaths, you screwed yourself. Amen

Big day for you in store You rise and shine You mop the floor Get spic-and-span Vacuum out that dirty minvan ‘Cuz you da man Seatbelt, the radio’s on The topic is hot The Imus is Don The Howard Stern Now you got some extra cash to burn You never live and learn Maybe I’ll fly in a jet to Dubai It’s my birthday You say it’s your birthday? So bake me a cake with a file in it, Jake For my birthday Wonderful birthday You eat brunch You show your ID At Denny’s it’s free But not at Applebee’s Just listen to me You check your wishes on your Facebook feed Fulfill your needs to be someone who’s satisfied Who never cries Who’ll never die But Jesus Christ, I’m getting older and it feels like hell I think I’ll sit a spell I’m grumpy I’m bored And I’m drunk on the floor It’s my birthday You say it’s your birthday? I got aches I got pains I got varicose veins It’s my birthday Wonderful birthday I’ve got bills I can’t pay All my dreams fade away It’s my birthday You say it’s your birthday? I’ve got a few years left ‘til I face my own death It’s my birthday Wonderful birthday

I come here with some news You’d better be a man about it That’s one thing about the blues Everybody’s got a way around it She is going look at you, and you may not believe it And she is going to say your name, as if it were a secret And she is gonna love you, the way she loved me. You wake up with a winner’s smile, The kind you want to go on forever I know what you’re thinking now, and Yeah, it somehow just gets better ‘Cause she is going to walk with you, and tell you that you matter She is going to remind you, of bells and rain, and laughter And she is gonna love you, the way she loved me And she will never let you down, take your light or cast a cloud I wish I could be the one to take her again....and again There’s one more thing to know, Before I leave and quiet this sorrow Let her give you all her love And you’ll never worry about tomorrow And you will never look at her, with eyes that shine withtears You can take her hand now, and go a thousand years But, you will never love her the way I loved her
